Description

In March of 1971, a spokesperson for the Canberra College of Advanced Education announced that a bar was expected to open by the end of the month. So long as the college statute providing for drinking at the college was accepted at the next scheduled meeting of the executive, drinks would soon be available. Initially restricted to beer and cider, due to recent increases in the price of liquor, these would be available from 12:30 pm to 7:30 pm with meals, and in the dining room, a bar would operate in the evenings.
